Law School Ranking by Membership in American Academy of Arts & Sciences

Leiter's Law School Rankings lists the top 10 law schools as measured by the percentage of faculty elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Leiter notes that the Academy each year "elects members based on their distinguished contributions to scholarship, the arts, education, business, or public affairs." He cautions, however, that "[i]n reality, the Academy tends to be a bit 'chummy'—schools already 'rich' with members get 'richer,' not always on the merits—though the sins tend to be of omission rather than inclusion."
